The Learning Channel (TLC) invites you to
experience the fun and excitement of ROBOTICA......An
exciting new Robot Competition!
This robot challenge is a four-event contest,
featuring 24 Robots plus the design teams that build
and operate them. All 24 competitors will compete in
one of twelve preliminary matches - each match
consists of three events including: 1) THE MAZE -
Robots must navigate to the center of a maze and along
the way, they will face a number of obstacles such as
flamethrowers, turntables, waterfalls and other
obstacles designed to impede their progress. 2) SPEED
DEMONS - Robots race around a figure eight shaped
track in opposite directions in an effort to be the
first to complete a designated number of laps while
crossing paths with other robots and trying to avoid
being forced off the track by other opponents. 3) THE
GAUNTLET - Robots will race against each other in a
"destruction derby". After these three
events, one Robot will advance to the semi-final round
- a FIGHT TO THE FINISH!
If you belong to a "Robot Club or
organization", there will be a separate room set
up at the studio available where you may distribute
and share information!
